Web 2.0 Tools

Finally, we are reaching toward the end of this semester >> actually, the end of the Bachelor Program >>> Yahoooooooooooo, I am very happy J

After doing dozens of projects, today I would like to write a reflection about “Google Tools Practical” project. I believe it is one of the most useful projects, since it doesn’t deals only with our study, but it extend to be a useful tool to be used in our daily life. At the beginning of the Management Information System Course, we had to provide a training session for our class mate about one of the Web 2.0 tools. After attending all the training sessions about Web 2.0 tools, I become an addicted user of Google. I had developed a Google site about how I have implemented each tool in my college and daily life. Click Here to view my Google site J

In this post, I will demonstrate my reflection on each of these tools. I organized them by ascending rank from the most important to the least important J

1.    Blog:
It is one of my most favorite tools because it allows me to share my thoughts and interests with other. I like following my friends, this allow me to know my friend better
J  Although the Blog is part of my final project, I believe that I am going to continue to
post in it after submitting the project.

2.   Google Chrome:
I really become addicted to use Google Chrome, I set it as my default browser. It is faster and has many nice features. The most things I love in Google Chrome, is the
ability of the user to download different applications such as games, themes, entertainment tools and much more. Changing themes is one of my favorite Google Chrome applications.

3.    Google Picasa:
I like editing and designing photos. Therefore, Google Picasa is one of my favorite tools. It enables me to edit my pictures in a very simple way. Creating photo collages is my favorite feature.

4.  Social Bookmarking (Delicious):
This was the tool that I provide a training session about it. It is a very beneficial tool because it helped me to organize my favorite links in one place and share it with other. Using Social Bookmarking website allowed me to have an access to my links from any computer and any time.

5.   Google Sites:
It is a very useful and easy way to create an online website, even if you are not an excellent in using website programs software. In the future, if I need to create
a website, I will defiantly use Google Sites.

6.   Google Search:
Google search is an important tool that I use every day. When I open my laptop, I always start my searching by using Google search >>> I can’t live without it.
After learning about the searching techniques, I can use this tool more efficiently.

7.   Google Docs:
It is a very useful tool especially if you are working in groups and teams.  You can edit your documents with your group members and view their updates. Moreover, Google Docs will save your documents automatically on the web so you don’t have to worry about losing your project if your computer break-down. Although I think it is a very useful tool, I didn’t use it in all my projects.

8.   G-mail:
After attending the training session about G-mail, I switched to G-mail since it allows me to label my e-mails and create filters which allow me to organize my e-mails. I also, like the feature of changing the G-mail themes >>> fabulous feature J

9.   Google Calendar:
It is a very helpful tool especially for students. It helps me to organize my time by scheduling the  times of my projects deadlines and exams, so that I don’t forget them. I like the features that Google Calendar provide to its user by giving them the advantages to share their calendars with others.

10. Twitter:
I don’t like social website. However, after the training session about Twitter, I become an addicted user and I install it in my smart phone and i-pad. I like following my friends’ tweets and it help me to keep in touch with my friends from the high school.

11. Facebook:
I didn’t like this tool, since I don’t like to share my photos with other. However,
after the training session I used it to keep in touch with my friends and view their
photos J

12. Google Earth:
I like to use this tool to view places I would like to visit. I think that I am going to use this tool when I plan to travel. Also, this tool will allow me to view maps and directions of some places >> I don’t like to use them, since I don’t understand them L

13. Google Reader:
Google Reader is a very useful tool. However, I didn't like it and I didn't use it a lot L

Overall, this was a very useful project that allows me to learn many new tools that will help me in my college, work and personal life. I believe that this project should be given to all students from different majors because the learning material is beneficial for all people regardless their majors.

Addicted to Notebook

Everyone is addicted to something. I am addicted to collect notebook J

I start collecting notebooks since I was in grade 3.  I used to purchase different styles of pretty notebooks. My mother always yelled at me because I purchased these notebooks and didn’t write any things in them L
Finally, she realized that I am addicted to collect notebooks. So, whenever she buys a notebook, she buys two copies; one to be used in my study and other to be kept as a collection set of my notebook.

I haven’t counted up how many I have, but I think it is more than 15 marks. As I am not any more a school student, do you think that I should stop buying them?!

Here is some collection of my notebook
