"Your Eyes Hamda"

This week I read an amazing Arabic story “3ynaki Ya Hamda” which means “Your Eyes Hamda”. The story is written by Amna Al-Mansoori who is an Emirati short story writer. She studied IT in Higher Colleges of Technology.

The story talks about the discrimination against females that took place in the UAE in the 1970s.  It is about Hamda, who discovered when she was 10 years old that she wasn’t welcomed member to her father since she was born as he always want to have boys. Therefore, all the people in the neighborhood used to call her Hamad until her mother delivered a baby boy. At that time Hamda’s name changed from Hamad to Hamda and she was only one year old. Hamda has an uncle that she didn’t meet because he traveled to study in Egypt and participate in the political demonstrations that took place in 1979. When the uncle came back to the UAE, Hamda used to visit him to read books from his library and started to write her own thoughts despite opposition from her father. Hamda falls in love with Rashid who is a son for a close friend to Hamda’s mother. When she enters the preparatory school her father burns all her books as he believes that females shouldn’t read. The events of the story sour when Hamda’s mother dies and her father paralyzed in a car accident. At that stage, Hamda receive a proposal from Rsashid to marry him but she refuse since she has to take care of her father and Rashid has to travel abroad to work. After ten years, the father dies and Rashid return back to the UAE and marry Hamda. 

Trip to Dubai Metro

We planned for a trip to Dubai Metro since last semester, however, it was always delayed L 

Gratefully, we were able to go yesterday J  

The trip was arranged by our accounting teacher Dr. Indrani >> Thank you miss

 We had to come to the college at 9:30am sharp. The college bus took us to Dubai Metro Operational Control Center to attend a presentation done by Mr. Steve. 

After that, we went to Rashidya Metro Station to have a tour in the Metro. 
Our tour starts from Rashidya Station to Union Station and then all the way back to Rashidya Station J

Finally, When we came back to college, I received a call from Emarat Petroleum regarding the job application. They told me that on Sunday I will have a job interview with them J

Back to College

I always feel that the first working week after a holiday is the longest week in the semester >>> I don’t know why??!! Maybe because it involves unexpected shocks about the projects and exams  0_0” 

However, the first working week in this semester had a different scenario J In this week, I had an accounting exam on Wednesday 11^th April 2012 with Emarat Petroleum as a process of job applications to decide whether to interview me or not. The exam consisted of 3 pages theoretical questions and 2 pages numerical questions. I think that the exam was easy and I hope to receive a call from Emarat Petroleum informing me that they will like to interview me J

My Travel to Europe 2011

Last year when my family proposed a two weeks travel to Europe, I figured that it will be the perfect destination to spend my summer vocation :) 

Our journey started on 15^th July 2011 and we decided to visit  Germany, Austria and Switzerland. 

We travel from Dubai Airport to Franz Josef Strauss Airport

We spend 2 days in Munich- Germany which was our first destination

Moving to our second destination, Zell am see - Austria, we stayed there for 5 days in Lebzelter Hotel =D

We went to Kitzsteinhorn Mountain which reaches a height of 3,203m

It was the first time that I saw snow  ^_^ here is my first snowman :D

After that we went to  Interlaken - Switzerland and we stayed for 3 days at Interlaken Hotel

We visit Heidi Land, it is really a beautiful place to visit and live Heidi story :)

Moreover, we had a tour in the Blausee 

The last station in our trip was  Europa Park which is located in Rust - Germany, we stayed for 3 days at Erlebnishotel Colosseo, which is an amazing hotel in an amazing park 

Finally, in the way back to UAE, I took some photos of sun rise from the plane

My Designs

The Spring Holiday started :D It is a great opportunity to relax and stop thinking about projects and exams.

Lately, I was so busy with my college obligations and it has been a while since I designed using Photoshop.

So in this holiday I decided to design some photos and here is what I have done ^_^
